• Can you please clarify for me the license to use plug-ins such as the WordPress Carousel Free Version? I have someone that told me if I am using this plug-in I had to keep the text “WordPerss Carousel Free Version” in the box with the image. Is that true?

Thank you for any help you can provide with this question.

That does not appear to be a plugin in the WordPress repository here.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/

All WordPress plugins are licensed under the GPL. That means you can modify the code any way you like including changing or any of the text. BUT I do not know anything about the plugin you are referring to and there may be more than what you’ve posted here.

Play it safe: use a different plugin. The ones in the WordPress repo do not have any restriction like that.

Thank you so much for your feedback. In the wordpress.org/plugins there is a “WordPress Carousel Free” plugin listed. Because it’s listed in the WordPress repository it should fall under GPL licensing correct? I just want to be sure that I am using the plugins ethically.

    Thank again…

If it is in the WordPress repository here https://wordpress.org/plugins/ then yes, it is fully GPL’ed. Feel free to modify that however you want to. 😉
