  • Not via WordPress – You’ll need to go to your web host and see if there are any backups available.

    seriously?

i thought we’ve made some progress since it’s first integration but well..

anyway is it something i recover from the admin backup files?

if anyone has the knowledge please explain why one must backup the whole website for something this simple?

    Thanks

@laundergroundradio: The upload path fields are only displayed on the Media screen if the upload_url_path option is not empty, and the upload_path option either is not set to the default path ('wp-content/uploads') or is not empty. (And it’s been that way for about 4 years now; see Changeset 21852.)

So, if you simply erased whatever path you had previously in that field, then that is why the options disappeared from Media Settings (because now it’s back to the empty/default value).

You can re-enter your original value for upload_path on http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/options.php (and once you do, then you’ll see those fields on your Media Settings screen again).

P.S. Be careful with making changes to that options.php screen — there’s no direct link to it from within the WP admin, and for good reason. 😉

@girlieworks thanks a lot for the info!

I would have thought there was a way around than having to do a full backup..

Now, is it possible that because of the field being empty (I hope a warning will be integrated one day) my website does not work anymore?

    Thanks
