Customize List after Populate with a Taxonomy and Populate with a Post Type

When using the Populate with a Taxonomy option and Populate with a Post Type option, is it possible to customize/curtail the list of options available?

For example, in the Category and Tag options within the Post Fields in the core GF plugin, I can opt to only allow the selection of a specific subset of the existing categories on the blog. When trying to accomplish the same effect with a custom post type, using this plugin and a Checkbox or Dropdown, and the aformentioned options, the options are automatically populated from the entire list. If I only want users to be able to select from a specific list of categories associated with the post type, or only be able to set submissions to a select couple of posts using the “try to set as parent” option, I can’t seem to accomplish that currently.

If I try to omit selections from the options, after automatically populating them from the Advanced tab, the deleted options re-appear on save.
