    Hey all,

with the new Offense/Defense stats is it possible to manage stats which are used for both Offense and Defense but split it for each?

I am not sure how to explain it, so I will give an example for Icehockey. If I use the “Offense” category for Skater Stats (Games played, Goals, Assists Shots, etc.) and the “Defense” category for the Goaltender Stats (Games played, Goals, Assists, Saves, etc.) I can select “All” for the Games played stats because the Games played column is used for both (Skater and Goaltender). In my case if a player played on the goaltender position it also counts to the stats for the skater position(s). Is there a possibility to split Offense/Defense stats without creating a new column called “Games played as Goaltender” (If a player played on goaltender position add 1 to the Games played column in Defense category and if a player played on skater position just add 1 to the Games played column in Offense category)?

I hope I have made myself clear 🙂

    Hi!

I believe we could hide these, but that would be just a visual change. Would you mind pasting the link to your website here, so we can check it out?

@roch, I am running an IceHockey SportsPress config as well.

I have my Player Performance stats configured as @sagund07 has his. All Offense & Defensive stats are under the Offense category, and I put all Goaltender stats under Defense category.

When I change the SportsPress setting to split the stats in the Event page to Offense -> Defense, it duplicates both teams rosters for both Offensive and Defensive Categories.

I can understand how the new feature isn’t designed to identify and split the rosters, but is there a way the players with the Offense position only show in the Offense stat category, and same for Defense and Goalie.

@roch, thanks for your reply. I managed it myself 😀 But I got another ‘problem’. In event page defense category, plaxer numbers not showing up (you can see it in the link further down).

Edit: And another problem 😀 If a column is used for both Offense and Defense in “Edit event” the column only shows up in Offense category for entering data. Is there a way to show the column in Defense category, too?
Example: The Assist column is used for offense and defense/goaltender. If I set a player in a game to defense position i can’t enter the assists for this player because the assist column only shows up in offense. As a workaround i can add the player to offense position, but in this case it will show up on event page as an offense player as well.

@chazmo99, you want to split Offense and Defense(in our case goaltender) roster in event page or team page?

I don’t know the english translation for the menu items so i try to guess them

In event page you can do this if you go to
Sportspress > Settings > Event Tab > Box Score Section > Positions and tick the box there (must be called “show top level only” or something like that.)
After doing that you can edit the event and you’ll see that each team now has 2 sections (Offense and Defense). You also have a new tab in the player selection list where you can switch between Offense and Defense and in this way you can select or deselect players showing up in the specific category.

It will look like this http://eishockey-arena.de/blog/match/2220/

If you want to split the roster in team page you have to create two playerlists. One playerlist with the skater positions and their stats and another playerlist with the goaltender position and the goaltender stats showing.

Thanks @sagund07 I found it. Looks good!

Thanks for starting this thread, I was able to create the split between skaters (offence) and goalies (defense).
However, when I create a new event, the only field that shows up on the Defense section is Position. None of the other stats fields (GP, A, G, P, etc) show up – it is just an empty line with the Position field at the end.

I’ve tried changing sports types away and back to ice hockey, but no change.

If I go to Configure and change one of the Player Performance items to only be for Defense, then it will show up in defense and not offense. But if I set it to All, it does not show up in Defense.

I’m sure I have missed a configuration setting somewhere, but can’t figure it out. Any help?

Hi guys! Please start a new topic if you need help as it’s really hard to track when we’ve got a lot of different voices.

    @sagund07
The original issue has been fixed then, right? Awesome, and thanks for sharing how you’ve done it.

Regarding the remaining issues, please open different topics for each of them so we can discuss them further

    Kind Regards,
