Gallery Function Removed in 2.8?

    I have upgraded from 2.71 to 2.8. Even since the upgrade, the Gallery function disappeared. I could upload individual pictures as usual, but the Gallery tab did not appear, leaving only “From Computer”, “From URL”, “Media Library”. Manually typing [gallery] in the HTML editor gives an empty gallery.

    Only when I click “Insert into Post” link of each picture, the Gallery mode reappears.

    I really need this function, so if it’s removed, I will definitely go back for 2.71. Thanks.

    Yes, I think it is removed. I did not notice this, as I am using NextGen Gallary.

    The Gallery is still available in 2.8. Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Removed all plugins. Still no Gallery page.

    Sometimes even if I insert the pics and then come to the page again, the gallery is not re-created.

    just an update:

    The gallery feature is still working (as in 2.8.1). May I was missing something..

    I also have this problem, one day it worked without problems, then it dissapered. I have tried to update to latest wp version, but to no avail. Have noted that I get an error on page, maybe the issue is javascript related – can somebody help with an explanation?
