Reactivate the plugin, remove the unwanted capabilities or rolls and then deactivate it again? Would that work?

No, it did not work. It seems to keep data in DB. 🙁
tazme, did you have any luck with this?
i have the same problem (and also suspect it’s resulting in the dreaded ‘insufficient privileges’ message when i try to do automatic updates)

I’m having issues related to Role Manager, does anyone know how to roll your data back to a state before Role Manager made it’s modifications? I’ve rolled back the wp_users and wp_usermeta tables and wp_options table with no luck.
I have deleted role manger plugin but still have problems restoring roles/capabilities to their default settings. No role can edit another users post (except admin) and this is a big problem for me.
I’ve looked at DB but since problem seems to be inherited by new users i create I think there might be some Role Manager code left lurking in php files.
Does anyone have ideas on how to restore roles/capabilities to default after using Role Manager plugin ?
