New user registration not being sent since WordPress update to 4.5.1

    Hi,

    New user registration is not being sent to new users who are being imported, since WordPress update to 4.5.1. Before this update it worked fine.

    When I manually add a new user, then New user registration is sent and user receives it.

    I have to add 100+ users and don’t look forward to doing this manually … 🙂

    WordPress and all my plugins are up-to-date.

    Thanks for your message.

    I think this is because of a change in the way WordPress manages users. This area of WP has been getting an overhaul since 4.0.

    How are you importing users? Is this using a plugin or another method?

    Hi Jack,

    I import users with a plugin called MemberPress.
    I have been using this for some time now on several websites, and it always worked fine.

    But since the last WordPress update to 4.5.1 the import of users is still going fine, but “New user registration” mail is not being sent to new users. When adding users manually, they do receive the “New user registration” mail.

    I have to add 115 users today to a new website … I guess the only option for now is to add them manually so they will receive the mail.

    Oh well … I’ll survive 🙂

    Hi dazz,
    If you disable BNFW, is WordPress sending the default New User Registration emails?
    If not, then it might be an issue with MemberPress and the latest version as opposed to BNFW or WordPress.
