I cannot seem to make the sharing buttons work.
When I click on each of them, they just open another window loading the same page. I tried reactivating, reinstalling, theme changing, deactivating other plugins, I even restored older VM snapshots and reconnected with wp.com, but still not working.
I desperately need this working fast because I need it in my prototype. They do work with the official buttons, but that looks too messy, and I would not like to install another plugin for this.
Can you please help? If you need to check the site let me know, because it is not always active.

Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look?

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

I already wrote earlier through the contact form. I wrote the same things as here. Could you check? I would prefer to keep it private since it is experimental. Can you please let me know when you check, because I am working on the site and will be limiting myself now to let you check.

FYI, I have only Jetpack activated at the moment, with twentysixteen.

Weirdly enough, I just tried putting a static page as the front page, and the sharing buttons work on the front page, but nowhere else. If I open a normal post, the buttons don’t work. Why is this happening?

And I just noticed that they are not showing at all on mobile. On one phone they don’t show up, on another, they show up for a second and then disappear. Please help me fix this quickly. I am trying with only jetpack active and twenty sixteen, so there should be no conflicts.

If you sent us an email, we’ll reply very soon!

I understand, but as I said, I cannot continue to work on the site unless you check the problem first, because I have disabled everything and changed the theme for you.

In this case, it’s probably best if you switch back to your theme and move on to other things until one of us gets back to you. We will run tests with you then!

I’m afraid I can’t find your email in the queue, since I don’t know what site to look for πŸ™‚

    It is a .serveblog.net subdomain

I’ll just give it here: soziotech.serveblog.net

    Thanks!

It seems that something stops the redirects from happening.

Could you tell me more about your server setup, either here or via email by replying to the email I just sent you?

Could you also let me know the contents of your .htaccess file, to be sure there are no extra rules that would break the redirect there?

Thanks for checking. I have a Ubuntu 14.04 VM with EasyEngine, which has a LEMP setup, so nginx. The .htaccess in wp has the following text, which I have not modified myself:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

If you need any other configuration for nginx or else, let me know.

Any solution? I am desperate. I can use an additional plugin of course, but I don’t want that.

Thanks for the extra details. I’ve tried to reproduce on a fresh EE install, also using Ubuntu 14.04, but the sharing buttons appear to be working properly.

Did you pass any extra parameters when creating your site, or did you use the default EE setup (ee site create example.com --wp)?

    Thread Starter someonehere15

    (@someonehere15)

Only the parameter to additionally install wpsc, but I have disabled it along with the other plugins.
Another thing I did is I created WP with EE with the domain that the site is going to be used, which is not this one, and then added this temp domain to the nginx conf file, so that the prototype is ready to be migrated in the end.
I am also using the dynamic siteurl and home values in wp-config.
Everything else has been working fine though, and even the buttons work fine in the front page, so why should any of this be a problem?
