I am trying to do a new first time install of 4.5 on my host. I have tried to go through the 5 min install. When I connect to my site I get a parse error. I google the message and I found a lot of the issues are with the wrong version of php and MySQL the host shows the php as being 5 and MySQL as 5.5.32 I have sent a message to my host support to confirm this is the current version. If so is there anything I can do to install wordpress.

I think contacting your hosting provider’s support department was a wise move. In the meantime, beyond the famous 5-minute install, might I suggest plowing through the detailed installation instructions just to be sure you didn’t miss anything:

    Hope this helps!

P.S., What is the exact error message you are getting? Plus who is your host and what kind of plan (e.g., Unix or Windows) do you have? Moreover, what browser(s) and version(s) are you using? Any other details that come to mind will be more than helpful. 🙂
