2.8.4 defaults to noindex, no follow?

    More of an FYI than a question but while trying to work out why new WP sites were not being indexed I discovered that the default Privacy setting for 2.8.4 sites (installed via Fantastico) is ‘I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors’ which puts a noindex,nofollow statement in the page source.

    Not a problem if you’re a aware of this but a real bummer if you’re not!

    Would have thought it more appropriate to default to the opposite?
