I could have sworn there was a way to add a class to a table before. Did it disappear? I have a client who needs tables, so I have added code to allow for responsive tables. They just need to add the table class — thus, I want to make it as easy as possible for them. Any chance this could be added (back)?

There used to be a class field back in TinyMCE 3.x (WP 3.8 or older) very vert long time ago.

There are few ways to do what you need, however all require some coding. Probably the easiest is to make a small TinyMCE plugin that adds a button which adds (or removes) that class on all tables (or on the currently selected table). Another option would be to do that on post save from PHP.
