Good tool for Buddypress sites

    I was looking for a way to import users from a CSV into a wordpress site running the great BuddyPress social/community plugin (system). I couldn’t find anything that claimed to specifically handle this and tried one or two more general plugins before finding this plugin, “Import users from CSV with meta”.

    In turns out this plugin is just the right thing. I didn’t see anything in the description, but it is actually designed to handle Buddypress groups and does so very well. Existing Buddypress fields can be matched to user fields in the CSV file in a really straightforward way. This made the whole process very straightforward.

    The email template, announcing to members whether they’ve been added to a site or had their details changed is an added bonus that makes this a reasonably sophisticated tool.

    That’s true, we have to improve the documentation in order to tell all it is able to do.
