pre-populate text area in WP – html chars are showing!

    Hello,

    I need to pre-populate a text area field of an html form. I know how to do this, but when coding this using WP, it is adding actual tags for every new paragraph into the text area itself on the web page.

    So, the submitted form includes actual, visible BR tags instead of just a new line as desired.

    I am using the WP Text editor, not Visual, so I’m not sure why it is adding tags into the text area.

    Does anyone have a workaround or any thoughts on this?
