For some reason the Customize option no longer works in the Virtue theme. It gives me a blank screen when I select that option. I’m using Virtue (free) version 2.6.7
    Thanks in advance.

Did you download the Virtue Pinnacle Toolkit?

It is required to make theme edits.

Yes I did and it is activated.

Have you tried making your theme edits through Appearance> Theme Options?

This is where I make 100% of my theme changes. I just keep whatever page I’m working on open in another tab and refresh after each saved change to see the effects.

I am able to use Theme Options, but would still like access to Customizer interface. Customizer was working up until a few days ago, so I don’t know what happened. I’ve had some problems with Jetpack, and wonder if that’s affecting it. I’ve since deactivated Jetpack, but to no avail.

I’m considering deleting the Toolkit and re-installing.

I would guess you could be hitting a php limit like the max memory and thats keeping the page from loading.

I would suggest contacting your host and having them increase the php memory setting as a test, you can see how how to do yourself: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/

The memory is already set to 512M in the php.ini file.

in the home page I want to remove the Latest Posts section. I tried to do it in the Home Layout under Theme Options by moving the Latest Blog Posts to the disabled column but it does not work.

I need a simple content page with an image slider and text but no blog posts.

    Thanks

    superk53,

Can you check your php error logs?
    Are you using wordpress 4.5
Do you know what version of php your using?
Do you know what type of server your using? I’m trying to recreate and can’t.

BillGhai, In your settings > reading. Is your home page set to static.. Check out this tutorial: http://www.kadencethemes.com/creating-a-home-page-with-virtue/

That shows one of your php extensions isn’t working. I suggest talking with your host. Since you’re on version 5.3 I would also strongly suggest updating the php version since that version is so old.

I’ve upgraded to PHP version 5.5, and upgraded Virtue to the newest version, and WordPress to 4.5.1, still no Customization and now no Theme Options. There seem to be conflicts with Easy Google Fonts and maybe other plugins including JetPack. With Google Fonts “active” I have no editing capabilities. I have to make my edits, then re-activate it. Jetpack was a problem, and I deactivated that long ago. Also, I’m using Pagebuilder for some of the pages, but I’m reluctant to deactivate that because I’ll lose my formatting.

    Hey,
What are your php memory settings at?
What does your error log have now that you’ve updated?

Problem solved. Evidently there was a line of code missing in my htaccess file that increases the PHP memory limit.

All seems to be working now.

Thanks for your help and patience!

    Glad to hear it!
