Yep, it’ll overwrite your changes to meet the latest version, so I’d advise manually updating by going through the change log and making the changes yourself so you don’t lose anything. That’s the safest way.

Thanks Daniel for this so quick answer.
Where can I find the change log? Prehaps downloading the new version, and look for the file inside?

It depends whether the theme developer includes it in the theme files but they should have it available to you from where you download it from I would imagine. Either way, they should provide it if you ask for it. Depends on the developer.

Then from there just compare the changes. I’d always advise to update the theme so just track any custom changes to add them in after upgrades.

Hope that’s alright and no worries. 🙂

    Thanks Daniel.
For people interested by updates problems with education-hub theme, they can go to this page:

    https://themes.trac.wordpress.org/browser/education-hub/

There, you can find all issues and change log for this theme.
I noticed also, in update page of my WordPress site, it is a good way to install child-theme in order to keep all modifications made when installing new version.

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    Hope it help.

NEVER EVER modify main theme directly. Child theme is there for the purpose.
If you want to see changelog of the theme, then you can find in in readme.txt file.
