Custom.js file not working with 4.5 update

    Hello,

    I have updated my website to version 4.5 and I am having issues with my custom.js file.

    Basically, I added a .js file to my website via FTP and called this file from my functions.php. Everything worked fine until I updated to 4.5 and now those functions in the .js file are no longer functioning.

    I know it is something to do with the wp-admin/js & wp-includes/js folders because I temporarily downgraded them to the old 4.4 js folders and my custom.js file started working again.

    Can anybody offer any insight to a potential fix for this please? I’m sure I won’t be the only person with this type of problem.

    Take a look at this post regarding 4.5 and jQuery issues. Scroll down a ways to the post titled “jQuery 1.12 problems.” WP 4.5 upgraded its version of jQuery, and you probably just need to fix some of the code in your custom.js file so that it is compatible with the new version.
