    Hi,

Should your panorama cover the whole sphere?

I’m sorry to be difficult, but I’m not sure what you mean. No matter what height or width I choose in the plugin’s settings, the image is still stretched height-wise.

I mean that to create a panorama you don’t have to cover the whole sphere. Sometimes for instance you can avoid the poles. I’m not talking about the way you try to display the panorama but the way you took it.

I’m not sure I’m clear enough, but if you visit http://tassedecafe.org/fr/wp-photo-sphere-panoramas-360-degres-wordpress-2706 for example, you’ll see at the end of the article a panorama which is not complete: you can’t see the poles. The pole are here replaced by black areas, so that the rest of the panorama is still a sphere.

My hypothesis is that you don’t have the poles in your panoramas (like in the example above) but black areas are not created. Could it be true?

Oh… I think I see. My image isn’t a “sphere”, it pretty much just goes horizontally. Could that be the problem?

You have to indicate the vertical field of view covered by your panorama thanks to the attribute vertical_fov. For instance, maybe I’m wrong, but I calculated that your panorama covers 40° vertically, so you can use [sphere 20 vertical_fov=40].

hi, sorry to butt in, but vertical_fov is in the settings page somewhere?
I’m liking the plugin but finding the settings pretty confusing !

I mean I’d like to set the default vertical_fov rather than using the shortcode each time.

    many thanks

    Hi,

No, for now, there is no setting allowing you to define a default vertical FOV. I just added this in the TODO list, it’ll be in the next version.

I know that the options page is not perfectly clear. With the addition of new options with the new versions, it became confusing. I plan to make a brand new option section in WP Photo Sphere 4.0.
