    1. I do not want to use an SSL. Which option on PayPal will direct buyers over to PayPal to complete their transaction instead of on my site? Or do I have to have an SSL regardless of any option I choose?

    2. How do you add the cart icon to the menu or display it as a button?

    3. I’ve selected to show the cart on “Page” – but how do I actually implement this? I don’t see it on any pages.

    4. How can I customize the pages to update the look to better match my website? or change the button style?

    Hello.

    1. Use paypal standard gateway. Users will pay on the paypal site.
    2. You can use the shopping cart widget to show it on the sidebars of the site.
    3. It will show on the wpec related pages.ike the products page or when viewing a single product.
    4. Copy the wpec them files from the store – > presentation page and then edit those in your theme directory

For #1, I only have the Standard PayPal option checked under the Payments tab and set up, but when I go to the Checkout page I still get an error that says

    SSL connection error

    ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

    Why is this happening?

Do you have Force SSL option enabled in the Checkout tab but you might not have an active SSL installed for your domain.

Got it, thank you the forced SSL was on so I turned it off since you said an SSL is not needed with the PayPal Standard.

I understand the Review Order once you click on Checkout, but since I selected PayPal standard I’d prefer to not have the custom fill in their information here and rather click a button that says Pay Now and be taken to PayPal to complete. Otherwise, they may have to complete this information twice. Is it possible to remove this section and include a button (but leave the chart with their products at the top of the Review Order screen)?

If this is not possible, I’d still like to remove the Shipping Address information from the Checkout page. My items are intangible and do not need to be shipped. I selected this on the product page, but it still shows on the Checkout page. Maybe I missed something.

Nevermind! I see those options now.

How am I able to update the look of the buttons? Purchase, Remove, Update etc. Thank you.

This thread has been very helpful for me – thank you both. I now have my site moving to the paypal site correcting the issues mentioned above. I too would like to not have the customer fill in their information on my page. I figured out how to take the shipping information off but cannot remove the billing detail from the checkout page. Can you share what you did to accomplish this? Thanks.
