Multisite not working

    Hello

    I have WordPress Multisite local installed the bitnami vmware version and my main site is working http:/10.1.1.11 and then I added a second site called ‘htt://ontech.10.1.1.11’

    I cant get the second one (ontech.10.1.1.11) to come up

    I even added the IP address on my hosts file (/etc/hosts) but it still doesn’t work. Any help would be appreciated.

    You installed WP onto an IP address. You cannot use sub-domain configuration with an IP address; sub-directory would be fine.

    If you want to play around with /etc/hosts, you can do something like this. Assign a domain to your IP address:

    10.1.1.11 myuniquedomain.com # use this as your main site
    10.1.1.11 site1.myuniquedomain.com # subdomain site 1
    10.1.1.11 site2.myuniquedomain.com # subdomain site 2

    Note that you will have to delete your current WP installation and restart all over to do the /etc/hosts trick.
