Just put .htaccess back the way it was, but don’t know what to fix in .user.ini
Site still doesn’t show!!! Can I remove .user.ini????
Hi,
Can you post the contents of .user.ini here? If there is any sensitive information, you can remove it (e.g., if it says your site’s domain name in the middle of a path, you can change it to just “domain” but leave the rest intact.)

cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1
session.save_path = /tmp
upload_tmp_dir = /tmp
max_input_vars = 999999
memory_limit = 512M
post_max_size = 192M
file_uploads = On
upload_max_filesize = 192M
max_execution_time = 600
; Wordfence WAF
auto_prepend_file = ‘/home/spinners2016/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’
; END Wordfence WAF
Ok, removing only this section should return it to normal:
; Wordfence WAF
auto_prepend_file = '/home/spinners2016/public_html/wordfence-waf.php'
; END Wordfence WAF
Let me know if that helps or if you still have trouble. On some hosts, there may be a delay around 5 minutes after the change is made, before it takes effect.
Can you also tell me what hosting company you are using?
-Matt R
No, everything still missing. Only header and some artwork show up.
Are there any other files that would be affected by this update?
Does temporarily disabling Wordfence bring the site back to normal? If so, there might be a conflict with another plugin causing an error message that breaks the layout.
Also, is WP_DEBUG enabled in your wp-config.php file?
-Matt R
No just did that. All is the same
Here’s what wp-config.php says:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);
Everything was fine until I set up the firewall.
I have just tried to install the new Wordfence on 3x WordPress websites. 2 upgrades went without issue, but on my 3rd upgrade my whole website has vanished completely. I was trying to configure the firewall and clicked save and went to a blank page.
Now, when I put in the website domain I just get nothing – a blank screen so can’t login or anything. WTF ?? How do fix this ?
@wschaefer1: Did you update any other plugins at the same time as Wordfence? If .user.ini and .htaccess are restored, and the plugin is disabled, I don’t know how this could still be causing any issues. If you don’t mind posting a link to the site, I could try to take a look also.
@vaypers: You can replace the .htaccess file with the one that you downloaded during the setup file, and check also if you have a .user.ini or php.ini file in the site’s main folder. If you still have trouble and need more details, please make a new post using the form at the bottom of the Wordfence forum here. (The wordpress.org forum rules ask us to keep each person’s issues separate, and it also helps us keep track of open issues, so no one gets skipped in long posts.) Thanks!

Okay now I’m officially panicking. Backup for this site was a few weeks ago, tons since then. If I restore the backup files would this site return to normal or is this issue at the server level?
Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thank you!
