Confusion with Godaddy.com

    My clint has a hosting with Godaddy.com

    he have 2 domain names one domain name is being forward to another domain name with wordpress installed.

    we decided to drop the 2nd domain name with the wordpress and use the 1st domain name. Godaddy said to check with wordpress and there is a way to just change 2nd domain ame to 1st domain name without doing anyting except change in the wordpress dashboard.

    Am I explainning this clearly? if not please ask and I will try to explain again .

    If I understood you correctly, then you need to change your site URL.

    This can be done differently, from the WP dashboard, by editing the wp-config file, modifying the database or via wp-cli.

    The easiest method is from your WordPress dashboard.

    Okay the wordpress is the “database”.
    All I have to do is connect/point the “database” to the correct domain name, correct?

    Login to Godaddy account.

    Web Hosting – Manage

    find where it days Web Applications

    View more

    Click on your current install and chick edit or update

    Under Files and tables you will get all pointers for the website and also database table info . Just Change your domain info.

    Dont forget to update the new info in your wordpress installation

    so once the 2nd domain is inactive then this should be okay correct?

    nope didn’t work
    Now I got

    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
