Please help, my website http://city-handyman.co.uk has the latest wordpress installed, and the latest theme update. If I or anyone else clicks to go on the homepage the side bar takes up to a minute to load. If you click any of the buttons of the nav bar the problem only happens on 2 or 3 of them, on the other pages the sidebar loads immediately.

I have manually overwritten the worpress files via FTP that didn’t solve it and I did the same for woo commerce Canvas theme. Ever since using wordpress if I ever had a problem I did these two things and it would fix the site. As I am not a web developer this is my way of doing things and it has always worked, but not this time.

Please can someone help me fix it, thanks in advance for any help given, Regards Steven.

hmmm… comes up immediately for me.

But checking the site on http://tools.pingdom.com shows one fetch that eventually times out on https://streamtest.github.io/badges/streamtest.js

Do you know what that might be about?

Thanks for your help this link: streamtest.github.io/badges/streamtest.js was for DMCA badges, I have just found all the pages they are on and deleted all the links as they were Javascript.

Could you try again, I think thats what the problem was, the homepage seems to load properly again. I have been having headaches trying to sort this out.

http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bsykEV/http://city-handyman.co.uk/ says your site fully loads in 1.55 seconds

Thanks for your help Steve, it seems fixed. I swear it was costing me business. Whats a good loading time for a wordpress website?

I was using a script in .htaccess to help instead of using plugins as I already use a lot of plugins.

I used to have a performance grade on Kingdom of over 80% now its down. I am on 1and1 internet and my website has CDN. Do you have any tips for faster loading?

Just installed Autoptimize plugin and got the performance up to 85/100
