I have used this plugin on various sites and this is the first time i am facing this issue.

I am not about to deactivate maintenance mode .

Somehow it’s stuck in its current state . I cannot change layout or get in or out of maintenance mode .

Do you use any cache plugins? If yes, please clear the cache and it will surely fix the issue, Cache plugins keeps cache at server side and serve them for public users, but not for logged in users.
