    I started to create my own website, there’re only 3 posts, and I left it for 1 month. I upgraded all plugins normally. By the way, today I found that all posts having sidebars which I don’t want them and I don’t understand why this thing happened because I never created them and last time I never saw them.

    When I tried to create new posts I can’t find full-width page option as same as I saw.

    Please kindly help. I’m very new with WP. I tried to find how to solve this from google but I don’t understand at all. Please help explain step by step.

    Thank you very very much.

    First we must distinguish between posts and pages.

    Pages can have different templates, which is what I think you’re referring to – you get a drop-down box in the “Page Attributes” box to select a template, e.g. “Default template” or “Full width template.”

    Posts do not have this feature. If the theme supports it they may have post formats and different formats may display differently (e.g. a quote format post might have some decorative quote marks) but aside from that all posts display the same. So if you don’t want the sidebar there and remove it, it will remove it from all posts of that format (which is quite possibly all posts).

    To remove the sidebar, go to Appearance > Widgets. Check if there is a sidebar that seems to be the one on your posts (there might only be one), and drag all widgets out of it. If things still come up there after all widgets have been removed, you may need to edit the template (but let’s not go there just yet!)

    thank you very much for your help.

    I went to appearance->widgets as you said and I found a box named “Primary Sidebar” which containing some widgets that appear on the posts so I deleted them but the posts aren’t full-width. There’s white area preserving for the sidebar. I can’t delete the primary sidebar from appearance–> widgets.

    What can I do next, please help advise.

    Thank you.

    Cool, we’re halfway there! Could you post a link to your site? Getting rid of the extra space could either be a quick CSS edit or template edit, seeing it would help work out the easiest way.

    What I’m confused is that when I first created them there’s no any sidebar (I thought I could choose it as same as when I added new page), I don’t know why they appear today not last month, so confused.

    I’ve had no friends to ask when I got problems with WP so I’ve felt very grateful when I got some help from other people in internet whom I never met. thank you so much.

    The only other explanation I can think of is that there might be theme-specific options allowing you to choose whether to show a sidebar or not. If you have a “Theme Options” link under “Appearance”, try looking there first.

    If no luck there, try the following CSS. To avoid editing your theme just for a few CSS edits you can use the JetPack plugin’s custom CSS option.

    .single-post #primary {
    width: 100%;
    float: none;
    }

    There may still be some space beside the text after that. The width of the text seems to have been set manually somewhere – are you using some sort of page builder, rather than just the usual WordPress text area?

    For the short answers;

    – Now I use Tesseract theme by Tyler Moore and I use the Beaver Builder.
    – And yes, I don’t understand why there’re always some changes happening in my website. Last one month, I was able to select full-width page when adding new posts and pages.
    – I can’t find Theme Options under Appearance. But I can use the jetpack to remove the sidebar. The problem’s solved. Hoo-ray!!
    – I see some space beside the opening pictures, I am not sure whether it’s what you talked about.

    Below is the story of mine in case you may understand why I got this problem. It’s quite long, you can ignore it, I may just wannna complain myself.

    I use the Tesseract theme created by Tyler Moore to create my website since the early of Feb. I chose this theme because I found his tutorial video in youtube, he explained all things step by step that I could follow immediately.

    At first, The website looked o.k. even this theme was not designed for publishing articles or writings as I need but I thought I would have known what to do next. But just few days after that, Tyler released upgraded theme (Tesseract 2), there’re some major changes he didn’t explain. I was so poor in this kind of technology then I couldn’t follow. By the way, I don’t blame him at all.

    I thought I’ve already added the new version of the theme by accident, and use two similar plugins for building pages and posts. In the first version, Tyler told us to use Siteorigin but in the new version he changed from Siteorigin to Beaver Builder. I thought I automatically added Beaver plugin because there’re an pop-up box inviting me to add it showing all the time. I worked on the website by using the both plugins and by not knowing the differences of them for few days. The new theme was easier to use but something didn’t function, so I left my questions on Siteorigin and a staff there helped make me know that I shouldn’t use the similar plugins together and I just noted on that day that I used Beaver not Siteorigin for creating the website.

    The surprised thing was that the problem at that time was not solved because I followed his instruction. The staff of Siteorigin told me that it seems like it’s solved itself. He’s not sure why.

    From that situation, I decided to leave the website by doing nothing for a while because the theme was just updated, there may be some errors or bugs or anything else. And Last month Tyler released new tutorial video to promote the new theme for the beginner which unfortunately he didn’t tell us what we have to do in case we’ve already used his old theme. I thought I had to wait a little bit.

    Today I check Tyler’s website and I just find a video teaching how to change from Siteorigin to Beaver, just releasing on the mid of Mar… hahaha… now I know I must deactivate Siteorigin (after I noted the differences of those plugins, I tried deactivating Siteorigin once but because there’re some pages messed up, so I reactivated Siteorigin on.)

    After deactivating Siteorigin and spacebar plugins this morning, now I have to recreate some pages which getting impacts from deactivating Siteorigin. And I found that the web spent more time to show the pictures, it’s like the website processing very very slow. (Most pics are not over than 300 KB, I usually resized them before uploading) And There a tab called “Related” sticking at the bottom of all posts which I’ve never seen before, showing title name and date which related in “entries” (for example: http://www.orientalbird.com/entries/previousupdate/the-eyewriter/) I’ll try to remove this tab.

    I think about changing the theme too but I’m not sure this caused from theme or other things else.

    Hmm… If you read till this line and have sth to advise, please…

    And thank you very much.

    Hello. I am having the same problem with my Tessaract 2 theme. I tried looking for the Jetpack Custom CSS plugin but couldn’t find it. Could someone please help? I am not well versed in code. From all posts page I would like to remove the side bar (i’ve removed the content but a blank space still remains) and make the page full width and have my post centered on the page.

    Here is one of my posts: http://theofficialwip.com/2016/08/17/what-if-youve-got-it-all-wrong/

    Any help you could offer would be much appreciated!

    @doubleedesign where do I put this CSS code into? Please help!

    ‘Custom CSS’ is one of the modules of Jetpack which needs to be activated;
    it is under the ‘See the other 28 Jetpack features’ link below the other features of Jetpack.

    alteratively, try any of the ‘custom CSS’ plugins; https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css
