    Kind of resolved this by swapping out the “placehokder.png” file in the assets folder but think this is a short term fix as it will be the wrong image if I add more courses. Any help or input is appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey jshipka,

    there is “Featured Image” box on right side of course admin page, it should work just as any other WP featured image.

    If it doesn’t work for you please provide us with System Report so we can investigate potential conflict.
    Details on obtaining your system report are available here: https://lifterlms.com/docs/how-to-use-the-lifterlms-system-report/

    Thanks

    @jshipka,

    Have you *tried* using the Featured Image box on the Course admin screen?

    This allows you to upload images from your media library to use on the Courses page and on the individual course page

    Thanks @thomasplevy

    For some reason I am not seeing that option on the course page?

    I really appreciate your help too, thanks!

    @jshipka,

    Maybe you’ve disabled it on your user by accident. Try click “screen options” in the top right corner and looking for “Feature Image” in the resulting slidedown. If “Featured Image” shows up, check the box and it should appear.

    Also If I am just trying to create a regular “post” the “featured image” does appear.

    @jshipka,

    Do you have the ability to disable all plugins except for LifterLMS and see if the featured image shows? At least temporarily. This will save me a lot of time determining where the conflict is.

    A clean installation (with no other plugins) shows the featured image with an issue. If we can narrow down the conflict we can set about resolving the issue.

    Thanks,

    (@jshipka)

    Disabled all plugins except for LifterLMS but still no luck with the featured image option. Still doesn’t appear. Seems weird that it appears in the regular post and page areas of WP but just not in the course section?

    Thanks for helping me.

    psmolic

    (@psmolic)

    Does it appear on lessons and memberships?

    Can you please try to activate another theme, for example Twenty Fifteen?

    Thanks

    Thread Starter jshipka

    (@jshipka)

    It does not appear in either lessons or memberships either.

    When I switched to the 2015 theme everything was appearing as expected.

    I really didn’t want to re-create my website using another theme though. Ugh.

    Any other thoughts on how to correct this?

    Hey @jshipka,

    There isn’t really any reason why a theme should be messing with the content registered to a custom post type by a plugin so, while I would very much like to resolve this issue for you, I believe you’re going to have to contact your theme developer and have them investigate why they are *removing* things that our post type supports (the featured image).

    If you would like us to continue investigating the issue we would be happy to, but I’ll have to ask you to submit this as a feature request via https://lifterlms.com/contact. We really really want to be fully compatible with as many themes as possible but since there is such an enormous number of themes available it’s really hard for us to prioritize several hours of compatibility research into a theme unless it’s a theme that we’re constantly being told we need to work on compatibility with.

    Please open a feature request and we can request some additional information from you via email and get it on our timeline to resolve.

    Thanks,

    Thread Starter jshipka

    (@jshipka)

    Ok, I really appreciate your help and will open a ticket. Thanks!

    @jshipka,

    Thank you for contacting us via email, after a deeper look into the specifics of the theme we’ve determined that LifterLMS cannot use it’s featured images with the theme in question based on the way the theme is registering featured image support.

    I’m going to mark this thread as resolved as there’s nothing more we can do from the LifterLMS side and it’s going to have to be resolved by the theme developer.

    Take care,
