Hi @renathy!
Thank you for your feedback. Currently we do not have setting for this, but we would like to implement this feature. I would like to check the possible solutions, which will take several hours. I will write you back with the details, I hope we will be able to figure out something by the end of the day.
@renathy
We are testing currently a solution for this case. I have created a test build with the feature and I would like to ask you to try it out and see if this solution would work for you.
You can get the new package here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14567896/nextend-smart-slider3-wordpress.zip
You just need to deactivate and remove your current Smart Slider 3 and then install and active the linked package.
Then on the edit slider view, there will be a new tab called “Optimize”, enable the switch there and see the result. Screenshot
This will resize images in the slider to the size of the slider into a cache, so you do not have to bother with sizes anymore.
I would be great if you could share your feedback about this feature. Thanks!
Would it remove all sliders and images already defined in plugin?
No, it will not remove anything. It is like a normal update.
Now it seems that image are taken of desired size. Maybe need more investigation, but so far it works.
P.S.
After setting this new update I have the following Notice that was not there before:
Notice: Undefined variable: rotated in …plugins/smart-slider-3/nextend/library/libraries/image/image.php on line 138
Thanks for the feedback and also for the notice report. I have fixed this notice, you can get the updated package here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14567896/nextend-smart-slider3-wordpress.zip
