• hi there
why can’t I use a screen capture of a video that is embedded in my text editor, as the main post image (shown in masonry grid). but if I paste a video into your visual editor it will use a screen capture. but this pasting in visual editor shows suggested videos after the video is done so i don’t want to use this method.

    thanks

is there a way to use a screen capture of the video for your post image when you embed a video in your text editor?

I can only seem to do this if I paste a video into the visual editor (though suggested videos are shown after, which i don’t want)

    thank you

Nobody knows what theme you are working in.
As well, as far as I’m aware nothing is able to take a capture of your video and set it up as a feature image. Maybe an example will help, but right now your question is quite vague.

or maybe it’s just a matter of how do i generate a thumbnail of a video that i’ve embedded in my post… so that my post has an image when displayed on my site in the modules? i thought one of the above that i described used a thumbnail but now i can’t get either way – pasting/embedding in visual or text editor – to generate a thumbnail.

    binder pro, sorry…
and i didn’t see your post till i posted the last one – so maybe you are right. not sure why i thought one would generate a thumbnail, thought i saw that happen prior when i tried both.
so do i need a plugin? i’ve seen ‘video thumbnail’ plugin. do you recommend that?

and it’s not a feature image within the post i want. it’s the small image that shows when you scroll through posts to click on. so it’s that smaller image i want, not a large featured one when you click on the full post.
