Let me start off by saying I am not technologically savvy so this question may seem laughable to some.

All I want to do is include a specific YouTube link into a single WP post.
I am trying to figure out what is the right short code for this…but do not understand the directions given. Can someone help with this?

Hello 2BKaribbean,

You do not need any plugin for that what you need. Simply insert link to youtube video as a single line in your post content, and WordPress will embed video out-of-the-box.

You are the best…thank you very much. As you can tell I am not the most tech savy so this has been a bit of a challenge trying to figure this out. One last question if you know-Do the views on the website count towards YouTube videos when you embed?

View count of embedded videos is very nasty theory.

Quick answer is: they count, but not always.
