I just recently bought a package of 2 wordpress sites from GoDaddy, now I am trying to get my first site up and running, on my PC using Windows 10. No luck. I have even tried it on 2 other computers.
Using the very basic themes Alum, Athena and Square. None of them will work properly. I try to add pictures to my home page, they upload, get saved, but do not show up in the site at all. Same goes for other features I try to update.

I tried to upload a pluggin so that my appalling attempt at a site, which I cannot edit, will not appear in public, but on trying to search for the pluggin get a message that there is a problem either with WOrdpress.org or my server. Would very much appreciate any help asap to help me out. Thanks in advance.

  • Without seeing the backend and what steps you have taken it is hard to say what your actual issues are, whether it has been installed properly etc..

I would suggest contacting GoDaddy support to make sure everything is installed properly and working.

Hi Matt. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
I bought a 2 x managed word press package with 1 freee domain site (the one I am trying to build).

GoDaddy have checked that allnus working gor me their end.
All sites with advice I find online talk about installing WordPress….installing on my computer???…. Not something that I was instructed to do by GoDaddy…..do I need to to get it all to work? I was under impression with Managed WordPress they took care of this themselves in their set up.

As of now, some aspects of customization in various themes work, others do not, or chose to at odd times only!
I loaded a free pluggin to give an ‘under construction’ msg do nobody can see the crap that is my current effort, but that is not even working! I tried deactivating pluggins, then reactivating; no joy. Am a missedably girl. I have used a well run wp site before, with no issues (created for me), so am a little familiar. But lost now.
Can you offer any words if wisdom?

    Hi Katy,

I agree with Matt above. Without seeing your site, front and back end, as well as your exact issues, it is nearly impossible to help you out. Thus, like Matt, I highly suggest talking to Go Daddy support. They have always been quite helpful for me when I had issues.

But, either way, please do update us as to how things are going. Plus, if possible, write up exact steps to reproduce the various issues you are seeing.

    Thanks!

Problem can be resolved if you provide the url of these WordPress installations.

Thank you for your advice everyone, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
I took the easy way out and chose to cancel my WordPress order with GoDaddy and went with an easier option instead, something which was easy to set up from the start.

So no need to take this further.
    Many thanks.
