• I’m almost finished putting together a newly redesigned version of my site. It is currently in a subdomain as staging.mysite.com. When it is done I would like to switch the subdomain to be the main site.

Since I began work on the staging site there have been alot of orders placed on the live site (as well as a few new products created). I would like to be able to import only the new orders that have been placed from the live site to the staging site so everything is in order when the staging site goes live.

I have tried a few importer plugins but they have not worked. One simply wouldn’t complete the import and the other brought in an arbitrary number of empty orders.

I was wondering if it would be better to move all the “code” from the staging over to the live like this post suggests: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/import-woocommerce-orders-customer-info-from-live-site-to-development and not touch the data at all, and if that is the proper approach, how could I do that? I have edited the theme and plugins extensively and would be worried I would lose all that formatting.

These are file changes. You should just be able to move the wp-content directory from staging to live, if your host doesn’t have a way to deploy changes for you.
