    Hi there.

So I installed WordPress and later on added my own site to my RSS-reader (NetNewsWire). I noticed that my favicon wasn’t really as nice as I wanted it to be so I updated it. Of course, it didn’t immediately show up the new on site itself and thus I refreshed. I tested this on multiple browsers and everything seemed to be ok.

Alas when I went back to the NNW I noticed that the icon had not exchanged itself. I found this weird since it still showed the old one which didn’t exist anymore. I then decided to delete the favicon from the server, let it be like that for some time and then re-uploaded it (I had unsubscribed during this from NNW). This didn’t work either, the old one still came back.

Now I’ve also reinstalled NNW and even that didn’t help. This seems to be in the WordPress now so I’m asking for your help. What is going on in here? I even checked from the server and there was no similar file for this icon.

    Thank you for your reply.

  • If you have changed the icon try cleaning cash.

No, I have not tried to do that. How do you do it, I couldn’t find any simple way to do it nor tutorials good enough to help to do it?

Thus I can’t edit anymore my previous post I’ll just post this resolution as a new one.

Yes, I managed to find out what was wrong. It was after all NetNewsWire that was misbehaving. You’ll have to (re)move NetNewsWire folder from:

    ~/Library/Caches/NetNewsWire

Once you (re)move that folder e.g. to Desktop you should restart NNW and icons should be updated. I’ve told NNW’s team about this bug but I’ll post my resolution later on.

Thanks for all the help still though. 🙂
