    Hello!

Whenever I post or send a link my wordpress site on Facebook, the picture generated below the link is blank and the tagline comes up as being (by Sam Burbank) rather than the tagline that I’ve created for the site.

    screenshot of the issue:

Any ideas as to what might be going on?

    Thanks much,

    Sam

  • Nothing comes through on that screenshot.

Try using imgur.com instead. You can link directly to the image without all the ads and other content.

Ah right, thanks! It’s not a very important image anyway, just shows nothing coming up when I’ve linked to my page in a facebook message:

    Hello!

From what I see, your Open Graph is properly installed, so that’s most likely a recent Facebook issue. A client of mine came up with the same problem.

If you use this debugger https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ it should start working. Just paste any of your links there and press Debug.

Note that the first time it might display a critical error, perhaps this one: Could not resolve the hostname into a valid IP address. Just press the “Fetch new information” button and then it should fetch your content properly, returning a 200 or 206 Response Code.

The bad news is that it will only solve the problem for that particular URL, not for all.

Hopefully Facebook is working on this.

Thank you very much! That worked perfectly.
