• When I try to activate a new theme in a new WordPress installation it activates a “you have chosen to to open .. application/x-httpd-php dialog box in Firefox asking me what I want to do with the file.

    What can cause this?

  • First would check in another non-mozilla browser.
FIrst thought (if its both browsers) is it might be a PHP or Apache error. Not sure what you have access to edit. Normally would be in php5.conf but if you have a shared hosting account look in Plesk or cPanel. It usually will be called handlers. Often caused by the server not knowing how to handle the file so you will need to know the file extension like php4, php5, phtml, etc.

I’m having the same problem in firefox all of a sudden… not on Chrome, though. Hmmm…
