  • Hello,

I have read all I can find on the subject of avoiding a line feed before and after an h1 to h6 tag.

I have tried the css display:inline

I have looked at taking the last bit out of this …

    $allblocks = ‘(?:table|thead|tfoot|caption|colgroup|tbody|tr|td|th|div|dl|d
    d|dt|ul|ol|li|pre|select|form|map|area|blockquote|address|math|style|input|hr|p|h[1-6]|)’;’

I have tried removing wpautop but this removes all punctuation. All I wish to do is use the h2 to h6 tags in the normal flow of a paragraph without a blank line.

    Many thanks,

    Neil.

  • Hi neilovan,

I’m not sure I understand you correctly, but h2 to h6 are heading tags. Being headings they can’t be inside a paragraph, which explains why you can’t have them in the normal flow of the body text.

Also, this explains why display:inline doesn’t help very much: to have the heading in the same flow of the paragraph, the heading should physically be located inside the paragraph, which is invalid HTML nesting.

However, if there are bits of text inside a paragraph that you’d like to have displayed like headings, you could wrap them in a span tag and apply to them the heading CSS styles that relate to font weight, color, size, etc., leaving out the display block of headings.
