Support » Plugin: Solid Security – Password, Two Factor Authentication, and Brute Force Protection » White Screen after updating from 5.2.1 to 5.3.0

    I have a Multi Site, Multi Network installation on WordPress 4.4.2. After updating iThemes Security from version 5.2.1 to 5.3.0 I was given a white screen error message when trying to access the dashboard. I believe it said I didn’t have permissions, but I’m not positive. When trying to access the front page of the main site on the network and another site on the network I was given a white screen error message that said something like no files found.

    I was able to access the site via iThemes Sync enough to delete iThemes Security and my site returned to acting like normal. Please let me know if additional details are necessary.

  • I am having the same issue. I get a white page with the word “error” in upper left corner when I login. I have to FTP to the server and disable the plugin to get the WordPress Dashboard. WP ver 4.4.2, iThemes ver 5.3.0.

    @andre

    Sounds like the iTSec plugin install got corrupted as a result of updating.

    You could try and reinstall the iTSec 5.3.0 plugin manually using FTP.

    Hi,

    @andre – Are you able to share the exact errors?

    @budyee – I don’t think this is release related. The “error” message is the default message for a Host Lockout, likely due to hitting too many 404s.

    @dwinden – I reinstalled via the dashboard, reactivated, and it appears to be working as expected.

    @gerroald – Unfortunately not. My focus was getting the sites up again instead of documenting. After reinstalling version 5.3.0 it appears everything is working so I can’t recreate the error.

    @andre,

    Thanks for the update. Happy to hear it’s working now.

    Thanks,

    Thank you @gerraold & @dwinden.

    Odd… I guess I did lock myself out. At some point I changed my max log in attempts from 3 to 2. My apologies.
