Can a non-wordpress.com hosted website appear in Discover and Recommendations?

I helped a friend set up a WP site at DreamHost.com. It used to be hosted at erictknight.wordpress.com. It is now at erictknight.com. Today he said he noticed that his site no longer appears in the wordpress.com/discovery and wordpress.com/recommendations sections of wordpress.com. Is there a way to make it appear there or does it have to be hosted at wordpress.com for that to occur?
