• Hi All!
For the love of food, I’m hoping someone can finally help me with this. first let me say that I have searched all the forums re; Error Establishing DB Connection and everything in between and it’s not solving my problem. So Im here to explain exactly the problem.

So I have several sites on WPMU 7 to be exact. Now my main network domain which everything runs on is :
    pr-bar.com

All of my sub sites are working fine with the exception of one (of course the one I need the most) which made me think that it wasn’t a wp-config issue. I am assuming it has to have something to do with domain mapping but I can’t seem to find the culprit. The domain I am trying to access is poshology.com but when you try to go to it, as you will see, this comes up;( http://pr-bar.com/wp-signup.php?new=poshology.com) and a registration notice comes up. It consistently redirects back to pr-bar.
When i type in;( http://poshology.pr-bar.com/wp-login ), thats when the grim reaper shows up and says this; Error Establishing Database Connection . So I have no access to the dashboard or anything.

Let me explain also that this site has been running since 2009 and never had an issue until 2015 with this particular site. I have tried contacting my host as well as my registrar first and all is good on their end. I did notice that when I go into the Network Admin/sites part of my main domain, the poshology site is listed but it has no specific mapping and no site id linked to it. When I click edit in the poshology site of Network Admin, this shows up in the info section of the URL; ( ://poshology.pr-bar.com/ ) notice there is no http:// in front of it…. that is exactly how it shows. When I go to fix it several times. WP will not let me save the changes and it goes back to the above. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I really would love to get this resolved once and for all. Thank you in advance!!!

  • codeebryan,
It seems like there might be some weird caching thing happening on the server. You might contact your host and specifically describe that ://poshology.pr-bar.com/ ) notice there is no http:// issue, because that is weird…

Thank you Tobe! I will try them again but the last time I spoke with them they said there were no issues that they could see. I use Linode but I’m thinking of switching hosts because they are limited with how much they help. They told me to check into my vhost but I’m not sure how to go about it. Thank you so much for your feedback though I’ll definitely check it out.

So here is what my host said but What the heck do i do about?? Does anyone know?

Sorry to hear you’re having issues. Linode acts as a infrastructure provider for your website. DNS is pointing poshology.com to this Linode, so there issues in resolving DNS There is a misconfiguration somewhere between WordPress, your database, and your URL configuration. We can see there is 302 redirect in there.
