Center text link vertically nest to thumbnail

Simply because I think it looks nicer, is it possible to center the text link vertically in the space next to the thumbnail? As an example, a single link/line will align to the top of the thumbnail, and I just think it looks a little odd. If the thumbnails and textual link were aligned along a horizontal axis, regardless if it’s one line or multiple lines, I think it would look more pleasing to the eye. I’ve tried some CSS tricks with margin-top, positioning, spans, etc. but I can’t figure a way around it.
