Recurring events set with a start and end date are showing in the calendar beyond the end date we’ve specified.

For example I’ve set an event “Series of Talks on Mindfulness” to run:
    > Jan 26, 2016 to Feb 9,2016
    > repeats 3 times
    > interval weeks

The events is showing weekly to March 1 (3 extra weeks). This is happening for all recurring events. Is there something I’m missing?

  • The end date should be set to the same as the start date for the recurring event. The recurrence ends after the specified number of repeats. In order to have your event occur Jan 26 to Feb 9 you would enter start and end dates of Jan 26, then repeat 2 times weekly.

The “end date” is there to allow an event to span several days. Sorry for the confusion.

The options are somewhat less than intuitive. For instance, choosing 3 intervals and custom days at 6 will show the event on the day it is scheduled and then twice more at 6 day intervals. That would be logically be two intervals, not 3 intervals, or 2 repetitions. So perhaps it’s just a semantics issue 0_o

Thank you both for getting back to me. Bob, your solution works great but you’re right, it’s a little less intuitive than the solution offered by Spiffy Calendar.

    Much appreciated!
