plugin dissappeared from plugin list

    running WP 4.4.1
    not sure of the backWPup version since it’s not listed anymore
    it has disappeared from my plugin list, but the folder is still in the plugins folder. When I try to reinstall the plugin it says folder already exists and fails, but can’t delete folder.
    any clue what could have caused this ?

    Try to delete it with FTP client and than reinstall it.

    tried that, it wouldn’t let me delete the folder..

    after further investigation, it seems something has locked the inc and languages folders. I even logged in through the site’s host file manager and it says no users have permissions to those 2 folders and they are locked.. they show being edited 12/14 at 8:37am, the rest have the date the plugin was installed 6/11/2015.
    interesting that the date syntax is different for those 2 folders..

    Any clue what could have caused this ?

    Sorry, but with date yntax the plugin has nothing to do. You can ask you hoster how to delete that folder completly.

    Did you ever resolve this – I have the same thing vanished from plugin list – yet the folder is still there!

    Actually in retrospect I should say I am able to delete the directory!
