  • Could you perhaps elaborate on what you mean?

Many plugin developers have a shortcode for use of the widget. This is usually listed in the settings. It would be useful if listed in the admin configuration description of the widget itself. When settings are set to a widget, like filters for a recent posts widget, it then giving a shortcode for those setting would be great, the same way the unused widget area stores them with the settings.

    Thanks for noticing.

I think the best way to go forward with this would be for you to contact each of the developers of these plugins.

I posted here referring to what’s offered natively. WP has template tags out of the box right? Why can’t widgets provide and list new shortcodes based on what’s configured?

Much simpler , less weight , and less clutter than inactive widgets.

That’s up to the developer and shortcodes for use of a widget doesn’t always make sense.

Also up to the developer. 😉

The core WordPress functions are flexible but it really is up to how the developer adds the administration settings in their widget and in the dashboard.
