Hi, and thank you for installing bbPress Notify (No-Spam), bbpnns for short.

If you aren’t receiving any notifications, please make sure to follow the troubleshooting steps below before posting a support request.

    • Verify that WP is sending out regular admin emails (test the ‘Forgotten Password’ link to be sure)
    • Check that ‘Administrator’ role is set for both topics and replies under Admin -> Settings -> Forums -> Email Notifications
    • Uncheck every other role so your users don’t get the test messages
    • Use 2 different Admin accounts – one for the topic author and another to check notifications. This is because authors no longer get notified of their own posts as of version 1.9.4
    • In the Admin area, create a regular forum, and a new topic within that forum
    • Make sure ‘Send Notification’ checkbox is checked when publishing the new topic via Topics -> Add New. Note that clicking the Update button on existing Topics/Replies will have the same effect, provided that the ‘Send Notification’ checkbox is checked.
    • Check your spam folder for the messages.

    Cheers,
    Vinny

  • The No Spam plugin works fine when the “BBpress moderation” plugin is not installed or deactivated.

The No Spam plugin only works with the moderation plugin activated if you create the topic and/or reply in the Admin UI and check “Send Notifications” .

Normal Forum “Participants” creating replies or topics in the forum UI do not have the “Send Notifications” option box available to them.

Is there a way to make this plugin work with the “BBpress moderation” plugin?

    Thanks

    Hi Rich,

    There’s a premium bridge for that: https://usestrict.net/product/bbpress-moderation-plugin-add-on/

    Cheers,
    Vinny

I purchased and installed this and nothing has changed.

There are no settings for this add-on that I can see.

The problem, again, is that when a normal (not an admin or moderator) Forum “Participants” create replies or topics in the forum UI there are no emails being sent to the user type identified in the notify no spam plugin. In both sections of the settings I have only the “Moderator” checked.

Is there something else needed to make this work?

I’ll contact you via email as I cannot give support for premium plugins in this forum.

I emailed you. Please check your spam folder if you don’t see my message in the inbox.

I did not receive any emails from you in any mailbox. What email address did you use?

The one you used to place the order. ichm…

The https://usestrict.net/product/bbpress-moderation-plugin-add-on/ plugin combined with this threads plugin, bbPress Notify (No Spam), and the bbpress Moderation plugin now work together to provide me with the capability I needed.

The problem was caused because the add-on plugin, https://usestrict.net/product/bbpress-moderation-plugin-add-on/, added a setup option in Forum Settings that was not in the plugins documentation. OnceI checked that option it worked.

    Thanks!

Hi there- i thought i posted this the other day but i guess not.

our notifications have stopped sending. we’re not using the moderator plugin.

all versions i believe are current, and i’ve tried everything in the list at the top of this thread.

What’s left to try and debug it?

i do receive password reset emails, so, the system is sending mail out.
we just dont get mail for any forum activity that we have flagged to send notifications for.

    all and any help appreciated!
