    Hi Allison,

    As for bbpnns not sending out emails, have you checked that your wordpress install sends out any emails at all? Here are a few things you can do:

    1. Verify that WP is sending out regular admin emails
    2. Check that ‘Administrator’ role is set for both topics and replies under Admin -> Settings -> Forums -> Email Notifications
    3. Uncheck every other role so your users don’t get the test messages
    4. In the Admin area, create a regular forum, and a new topic within that forum
    5. Make sure ‘Send Notification’ checkbox is checked when publishing the new topic via Topics -> Add New
    6. Also check that the parent forum is the regular one
    7. Check your spam folder for the messages

    There aren’t many people using hidden forums, but it’s always worked. The steps above should guide you towards finding the culprit in this situation. Please let me know what you find.

    This was resolved. The issue was that as of 1.9.4, bbpnns no longer notifies the author of a topic/post.

    Testing with a different author worked.
