• URL http://www.naranonmidwest.org External links and document links were set up to open a new tab. After activating WP Accessibility, neither work. External links were set up through WordPress insert/edit link option and document links were set up using – ‘target=”_blank”‘
Is there a way to fix this problem? I understand that opening new tabs could be confusing for the visually impaired, but it is also helpful for the normal user. Is there a way to turn off the new tab functionality after a visually impaired user clicks on one of the toggle switches?

If you need your links to open in new tabs/windows, you can turn off that option in the WP Accessibility settings.

In general, I don’t recommend this; it is disorienting for many groups of users, including the visually impaired and elderly users or users with a low threshold of technological comprehension. However, as long as the links are clearly labeled as opening in a new tab/window, that should make this usable.
