New events not showing with shortcode

Hi,

I mentioned this in another post of mine, but I assume it was ignored because it was a different topic.

I recently changed themes to Tewnty Sixteen and I am not sure if this related to the theme or the last plugin update, but I have a page that lists the new events listed on the site so anyone checking in can see what is new without searching through all of the pages.

I use the shortcode below and it has always worked until now, the newest posting always showed at the top.

[events_list orderby="event_date_created" order="DESC" limit=10]

I have tried disabling all of the plugins with the exception of events manager but that made no difference.
