• All I was looking for was a simple plugin to add a Constant Contact signup form to a site. I usually use Mailchimp but the site owner likes Constant Contact.

It is unbelievable to me that in order to have anything other than the most basic form, one where you can’t even customize your own CSS, that everything is premium.

If you really don’t know anything about HTML, how to edit code or even how to use your Constant Contact dashboard, I suppose this would work for you as it is step by step walking you through configuring a form. I have no idea if it actually works. I deleted it as soon as I got to the screen with the premium options. Having to create an account on their service just to use the plugin is more than a little ridiculous.

I would call this a straight up premium plugin. Saying otherwise is misleading.

That is absolutely incorrect. Here’s our pricing chart which lists everything we offer in a free plan: http://www.mailmunch.co/pricing

Our free plan offers a complete solution that works end-to-end. It captures a lead from your site and syncs it to Constant Contact – ALL for free!

But once you decide to apply advanced customizations like a premium theme or your own css, thats what you need a premium account for. This is made absolutely clear in our pricing charts.

I don’t consider styling a button with CSS an “advanced” customization and you can log into the CC dashboard and get the code for a form that “captures a lead” and “syncs it to Constant Contact.”

That is exactly what I said, it’s a good plugin for people who don’t know how to do anything. For me, it was a complete waste of my time installing it.

As I didn’t actually use your plugin, I can’t comment on the “complete end to end” solution claim. However, from what I did see in the backend after installing it, it didn’t seem to me to offer the customization, options, or reporting of plugins like Bloom, Layered, or Ninja popups.

However, those three all require the user to be at least slightly aware of how their WP system works and their way around their newsletter service. Yours doesn’t, but it’s also not “advanced” compared to those. Don’t be offended by people stating the obvious.

Constant Contact’s default forms do not offer multiple types like scroll box, popup, top bar. We offer all of these for FREE. We also offer the exit functionality (showing your form when user is about to exit) for FREE. We offer options to trigger forms just when the user is most likely to subscribe, also for FREE.

The other services you mention like Bloom or Ninja are all paid plugins. They don’t even have a free offering like us. That’s exactly my point, our FREE plan offers options that most plugins offer only in paid plans. 🙂

Point taken. :). Yes those are good features in a free plugin.

However, I didn’t need all that. I just needed a form in a sidebar, so I went with one that didn’t have an upsell for CSS customization.

Hopefully you can use our service in future and reconsider your review 🙂

    Good luck!
