There appears to be an issue with the plugin. I was having the same error and found many others having it as well. Can’t find how to contact the developer for support. Any luck fixing it on your end? All my websites that use it are having issues.
Update: There appears to be a conflict between the new WordPress update and the plugin. To temporarily fix the issue on my sites I had to edit the FROM field in the MESSAGES for each form to: [your-name] <[your-email]> (alter the field name to match your form fields). If there is any other information or customization in that field the form would not work and I received the ‘FAILURE TO SEND’ message.
Agree with igdesigngroup. I receive the same error.
I use a SMTP plugin: thus host unrelated issue. Must be the Contact Form 7 plugin.

You are correct igdesigngroup! That was the problem. After I edited those fields, it worked just fine.

QUOTE: Your approach using [your-name] <[your-email]> is also risky and will cause problems on many hosts. You need a host that allows emails to be sent from email addresses that are not hosted on that domain. Many hosts prevent this to help control spam.
Hi buzztone. We have experienced that issue you are talking about with our emails being seen as spam, so hopefully that will get worked out with future updates.
