Extra blank slide/space after last image

Hello,

I’m experiencing the exact same issue as https://wordpress.org/support/topic/extra-blank-space-after-last-image

I’m using 1 image per stage and have 3 image loaded in the gallery and it shows a fourth slide which is blank. Inspect Element shows <p></p> in that blank slide.

I’m just trying to add the gallery to a Text widget for display in a sidebar. I’ve also tried with a Visual Editor widget (from Black Studio). It works fine if I put the gallery shortcode in the main editor of a page. I’m only able to reproduce the issue when I enter the shortcode in a widget. I’m assuming it has something to do with how shortcodes are called in a widget. Any way around this?
