What I’ve done is created a menu for a specific role. I basically created a new role called “Website Admin” and gave it every capability that exists.

I verified that everything worked. I was able to access all of the wp-admin pages I needed.

I then started customizing the menu. I removed items that aren’t needed. Verified everything still functioned as expected. It did.

I use woocommerce – I didn’t want a submenu though, I wanted the options to all be laid out as top-level menus, So I deleted the top-level item for WooCommerce, and that’s when it went downhill. The “reports” option for WooCommerce turned red, indicating something about checking settings on the Display tab. I went to display tab, wasn’t sure exactly what to do there, so I just hit the save button and when I returned to the menu, that option wasn’t red anymore. However now that user can’t access anything on the Woocommerce reports page. It says they don’t have permission to view the page. (It didn’t say this back when it was still listed as a sub-menu item).

For clarification – I did similar things for other Top-level/sub-menu items, like posts. I deleted the “Posts” top-menu item so that the 4 sub-menu items would be displayed as top-menu. It all still works perfectly. In fact, even in the WooCommerce area – everything EXCEPT reports works. Orders, Coupons, etc.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I really love the plugin!

I guess it has something to do with the name of the page (Reports). I notice it happens for a few other pages that have “Settings” in the name also – is there any workaround or fix for this?

Hi there, sorry about the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of how this plugin works and how WooCommerce works, doing what you’re asking about is not currently possible.

We’re actively working on the next update for Client Dash and hope to address such issues soon.

    Sorry about that.
