Rel links to lightbox not supported?

    Hi,

    I have a query regarding the rel box. I’m trying to make a link to an external site pop up in a lightbox rather than another window/tab. I’ve got the Responsive Lightbox by dFactory plugin installed and apparently all I have to do is select/paste lightbox in the rel box in the editor. The TinyMCE advanced does not give me this option. All I have is rel none, or nofollow. Am I missing something here or does this plugin not support links to be displayed in a lightbox?

    Any help would be gratefully received.

    Right, this is an option that should have been added by the lightbox plugin. Best is to contact the authors and request that.

    Alternatively you can add it by using https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-tinymce-configuration/. The option to override is rel_list and the value is [{text: "None", value: ""}, {text: "Nofollow", value: "nofollow"}, {text: "Lightbox", value: "whatever-you-need"}].

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your reply. I think that we can rule out the first option as I have tried numerous lightbox plugins and there is no difference. I think you’ve hit on the problem in your second option.

    Unfortunately I could not find the rel_list in the advanced-tinymc files. Could you please indicate which file in the plugin I need to edit and if possible, using notepad, indicate the lines to edit.

    You don’t need to edit a file. You can install the above plugin that will let you set options for the TinyMCE editor directly. This is targeted at advanced users as setting the wrong option or having an error will most likely “crash” TinyMCE. Of course in that case you can always go back and remove the option.
